The cumulative production of crude oil from China's largest offshore oilfield has exceeded 500 million tons
On the 21st, it was learned from CNOOC Tianjin Branch that China's largest offshore oilfield, Bohai Oilfield, has produced over 500 million tons of crude oil, making important contributions to ensuring national energy security and promoting economic and social development.
The Bohai Oilfield was founded in 1965 and is the birthplace of China's modern offshore oil industry. Over the past 50 years of production, more than 50 oil and gas fields and more than 190 production facilities have been built.
Due to the high difficulty of offshore oil and gas exploration and development, as well as the backwardness of equipment technology, the Bohai Oilfield faced difficulties in increasing production. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with the rapid development of China's marine oil and gas exploration technology, the production of Bohai Oilfield has grown rapidly. Over the past 10 years, the cumulative production of oil and gas has exceeded 300 million tons, far exceeding the total production of more than 40 years.
Since 2019, Bohai Oilfield has continuously explored and discovered five billion ton oil and gas fields, including Bozhong 19-6, Kenli 6-1, Kenli 10-2, Bozhong 13-2, and Bozhong 26-6, quickly becoming China's largest crude oil production base and building the second largest oil and gas field in China, playing an important role in bringing China's annual crude oil production back to 200 million tons.
Bohai Oilfield is accelerating its green and low-carbon transformation, taking the lead in connecting offshore oil fields with shore power, using five LNG protection ships that consume clean energy, supporting offshore oil field production, and fully promoting the construction of offshore wind power and land terminal photovoltaics. In addition, the Bohai Oilfield is actively building a "green oilfield" through measures such as offshore power supply, energy efficiency improvement, and the development of green energy.
